UNESCO Tentative List for Arab States
In doing our research for the MENA Museums Directory entry for the Hejaz Railway Museum, we learned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia registered the Hejaz Railway onto UNESCO’s Tentative List in 2015.
We are now wondering when will see a full inscription on the World Heritage List. Hopefully soon.
A big project to be sure.

Further exploration reveals that there are in fact 198 sites currently on the UNESCO Tentative List for Arab States. A reflection of the significance of the region to world history..
